Terms of service

The plain terms of registering a child with the clinic. Short, and worth two minutes of your time.

Effective July 30, 2026

These terms

These terms apply when you register a child with Youth Basketball Club, and they sit alongside our liability waiver, refund policy and privacy policy. Registering means you accept all four.

Registering a child

Only a parent or legal guardian can register a child. Please give accurate information, especially phone numbers and medical notes — they are what we use to reach you and to keep your child safe.

A registration is confirmed when you receive our confirmation email. A place is not held indefinitely: if a session is full we will tell you and offer the next one.

Prices and payment

Current prices are shown on the registration page and are always the ones that apply — the amount is calculated on our server from the published package price, so nothing else can change what you are charged.

You can pay by card, Zelle or Venmo. Card payments are taken on the registration page itself and confirmed immediately. Zelle and Venmo are marked as outstanding until a coach confirms the transfer arrived, so send it before the session and put your child’s full name in the memo.

Payment is due before your child takes part. A coach can let a child play while a transfer is in flight, but that is a courtesy rather than a right.

What a package buys

There are two kinds:

  • Time passes cover unlimited sessions of their type for a fixed window — typically 30 days from the day the pass starts. If your child attends less often, the unused time does not carry over.
  • Session packs cover a set number of sessions. Each check-in uses one. They are used up when the count runs out, and they also have an expiry window.

Group passes cover group clinic sessions; private lessons are booked separately or included as a stated number of sessions in a bundle. A pass covers the child it was bought for and cannot be shared between siblings.

You can check what your child has left at any time on the plan page.

Attendance and missed sessions

Sessions run at MCA Cage Courts at the times shown on the site. Please arrive a few minutes early so your child can warm up with everyone else.

A session your child misses is not refunded and is not automatically added back to a pass. Tell us in advance when you can and we will try to fit a make-up session in where there is space — see the refund policy for how illness and injury are handled.

When we change or cancel something

We may cancel a session for weather, an unsafe court, a facility closure or a coach emergency, and we may occasionally move a time or change a group’s schedule. We will tell you by email and in the parents’ group chat as early as we can, and a cancelled session is made up or credited under the refund policy.

Prices can change, but never for a pass you have already bought. A price change applies from your next renewal.

Behavior

Players are expected to listen to their coaches, treat everyone with respect, and follow safety instructions. We can end a session early for a child, or end a registration, where behavior puts others at risk or repeatedly disrupts the group. The same standard applies to parents and spectators. The waiver sets this out in full.

What we promise, and what we don't

We promise coaching delivered with reasonable care and skill, by coaches who are prepared for the session. We cannot promise a particular outcome: no clinic can guarantee that a child will make a team, earn a place on a roster, or reach a given level.

Except where the law says otherwise, and except for the safety responsibilities described in the waiver, our liability to you in connection with the clinic is limited to the amount you paid us for the package in question.

Emails and the group chat

When you register we send a confirmation, a receipt when payment lands, and reminders before sessions and before a pass expires. You can stop reminders at any time from the link in one of them. The parents’ WhatsApp group is optional and run on WhatsApp, not by us.

General

If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms are governed by the law of the state in which the clinic operates. We may update them; the effective date above tells you when they last changed, and material changes are announced to families rather than made quietly.
